Research funding for PhD symposia

The Austrian Society of Allergology and Immunology (ÖGAI) annually awards four grants of € 500 each to support the invitation of lecturers from the fields of immunology and allergology within the framework of PhD symposia.

The sponsorship of the ÖGAI must be applied for by the young scientists (doctoral or PhD students) on their own initiative. The informal application should clearly describe the scientific programme of the event and list the necessary travel expenses for the lecturer. The prerequisite for a successful decision is that the applicant is enrolled in a PhD program at an Austrian university, but is not involved in a doctoral program (DK) or a collaborative research center (SFB). Furthermore, the applicant must be a member of the ÖGAI. The grant is intended solely for the purpose of inviting speakers and may therefore not be used for any other purpose. The aim of this funding should be to enable committed young scientists to discuss with invited specialists in their fields during the symposia.

In order to make the support of the ÖGAI visible, the logo of the ÖGAI must be printed in the abstract book/programme booklet of the supported PhD symposium. Applications with a detailed description of the symposium should be sent by the students in electronic form as a summarized pdf document to the secretariat of the ÖGAI(office@oegai.org). The applications are assessed by the company’s Management Board.

Applications can be submitted on an ongoing basis.
