For the year 2024, the official presentation of the ÖGAI prizes will take place during the ÖGAI 2024 Scientific Symposium on December 9, 2024, in the Van Swieten Saal, MedUni Vienna.
Clemens von Pirquet Prize 2024
The Clemens von Pirquet Prize 2024 was awarded to Dr. Christine Bangert, from the Department of Dermatology, DIAID, Medical University of Vienna, for her work “Dupilumab-associated head and neck dermatitis shows a pronounced type 22 immune signaturemediated by oligoclonally expanded T cells”
ÖGAI Dissertation Prize 2024
The 1st ÖGAI Dissertation Prize 2024 (Fritz and Ursula Melchers Prize) went to Dipl.-Ing. Magdalena Lang, BSc, from the Medical University of Graz, for her work
“TGF-β family signaling controlling DC phenotype and subset specification in Inflammation and Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis”
The 2nd ÖGAI Dissertation Award 2024
went to Karoline Strobl, PhD, from the Medical University of Vienna, for her work
“Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor protects the hair follicle immune privilege”
Karl Landsteiner Prize 2024
The Karl Landsteiner Prize 2024 was awarded to Stephanie Deborah Fritsch, MSc, from the Institute of Medical Genetics Center of Pathobiochemistry and Genetics, Vienna, for her work “Metabolic support by macrophages sustains colonic epithelial homeostasis” and to Nikolaus Fortelny, PhD, from the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg (PLUS), for his work
“JAK-STAT signaling maintains homeostasis in T cells and macrophages”
