Im Jahr 2023 fand die offizielle Verleihung der ÖGAI-Preise im Rahmen der 51. Jahrestagung der ÖGAI vom 14. bis 16. September 2023 in Linz statt.

Clemens von Pirquet Prize 2023
Maria Strobl from the Institute for Pathophysiology and Allergy Research, Medical University of Vienna for her work “The role of IgG1 and IgG4 as dominant IgE-blocking antibodies shifts during allergen immunotherapy”.

Karl Landsteiner Award 2023 (shared)
Johanna Strobl from the University Clinic for Dermatology, Vienna for her work “Tick feeding modulates the human skin immune landscape to facilitate tick-borne pathogen transmission” (Journal of Clinical Investigation, PMID: 36166299)

Louisa Hill from the Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (I.M.P.) for her work “Igh and Igk loci use different folding principles for V gene recombination due to distinct chromosomal architectures of pro-B and pre-B cells” (Nature Communication, PMID: 37085514)

ÖGAI Dissertation Prize 2023
The 1st ÖGAI Dissertation Prize 2023 (Fritz and Ursula Melchers Prize) was awarded to Sophie Zahalka from Boehringer Ingelheim RCV, Vienna for her work “Concepts and mechanisms of trained immunity in pulmonary macrophages”.

The 2nd ÖGAI Dissertation Award 2023 went to Melanie Kienzl from the Otto Loewi Research Center, Medical University of Graz for her work “Regulation of immune cells in the tumor microenvironment: the role of IL-33 and 2-AG” and to Stefanie Ottersbach from the Department of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research, Medical University of Vienna for her work “Exploring conformational lgE epitopes of Bet v 1 by structure-based epitope grafting”
