50TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE DGFI AND 48TH ANNUAL MEETING OF THE ÖGAI POSTPONED
Dear colleagues, dear friends and ÖGAI members,
We have been following the developments of the coronavirus pandemic in Germany, Austria and, of course, worldwide for months. Based on the recommendations and guidelines of the state of Lower Saxony, the RKI and the COVID-19 Task Force of the MHH, we regret to inform you that our joint DGfI/ÖGAI annual conference cannot take place in September. A later date in 2020 is also not possible due to the various uncertainties in times of this pandemic, and of course “safety first” applies.
After considering various options and in consultation with the DGfI/ÖGAI advisory boards, we also decided against a virtual conference, because our annual conferences traditionally thrive on personal encounters and unfortunately these cannot be replaced virtually.
Together with the DGfI/ÖGAI boards, we are working on an alternative for a joint annual meeting in spring 2021 and the abstracts already submitted may be retained for this. We will inform you about further details before the summer vacation period.
A postponement to September 2021 is not possible due to the ECI conference in Belgrade from September 1-4, 2021 – which is why we would like to take this opportunity to point out this date – save the date!
Immunology is needed more than ever in these times and so let us fight together to overcome this pandemic, which will not be possible without a vaccine – and then hopefully we will see each other again in good health – at the latest in Belgrade.
