The ÖGAI supports young scientists through scholarships.
Young ÖGAI members up to their 35th birthday will therefore once again have the opportunity to support active participation in a scientific (including hybrid) event in 2026 through travel grants up to a maximum of 500 euros. Actual costs for registration fees, travel and hotel costs are covered.
In addition to ÖGAI membership, the active presentation of a subject-specific abstract at the respective event is a prerequisite. The same congress contribution may only be submitted once for a travel grant. Scholarships can be applied for both before and after the congress (provided all documents are available).
Recipients of travel grants are obliged to use the ÖGAI logo in their presentations, as well as the reference to ÖGAI support on the poster or on the last slide. You are welcome to request the ÖGAI logo from our office by email: office@oegai.org.
Applications with a completed application form, the submitted abstract, confirmation of a presentation and a short CV should be sent to the ÖGAI secretariat(office@oegai.org) as a single PDF document in reduced size in electronic form. Applications will be reviewed by the Society’s Executive Board. In the event of an award, confirmation of participation in the congress must be submitted.
The travel grants are only awarded to ÖGAI members under the age of 35.
Submission deadlines are May 15 and November 15 of each year.
In addition, the ÖGAI awards 8 travel grants up to max. 400,- Euro for participation in the 14th EFIS-EJI Tatra Immunology Conference (June 13-17, 2026; link to the conference)
